Short answer: You might have posted as a not-logged-in user (also known as Anonymous).

Long answer: Some of the reasons are:

• You did not log in when you posted. Anonymous posts go into a moderation queue; so, one of us moderators has to take time off from normal workday work to come log in here, read your post, and approve it for publication. All this takes time - usually, less than 24 hours - but in the meantime your post does not show up on the portal.
• You were indeed logged in when you posted but the moderators, on their nightly prowls, found your post so offensive they deleted it. For guidelines about posting, see "Guidelines for posting" (top of the screen, blue band).
