The Subconscious Mind Power in Technical Writing
Not many readers would believe that the essence of writing and living is nothing but the usage of 5Ws and 1H. Should you not compromise with this truth, here is the small scenario how these things can really create an impact as you grow and exercise yourself towards technical writing.
In a small survey that I conducted in the recent past, successful writers have always answered one fact – the litmus test in technical writing is not the fear of writing grammatically incorrect but the challenge of writing technically incorrect.
Further more, I also questioned how it is possible to maintain and get acquainted to different technologies without having the base knowledge in a particular platform. They answered that for any given application, the workflow is pre-recorded in their mind. They follow a certain questionnaire in the subconscious mind that helps them to counter or figure out the tasks in a much easier way as compared to conventional methodologies that were practiced in the past.
As I go forward, effective writing is nothing but logical presentation of views in a clear and concise manner. A majority of readers may now question how subconscious mind is related to technical writing. It is as simple as brushing your teeth, washing clothes or driving your vehicle. This principle directly applies also to writing. As part of the survey, I also questioned some individuals for their discontinuation in technical writing career. Ironically, they answered that it is better to speak for half an hour rather than writing a simple paragraph. Fear of writing right, criticism and inferiority complex were the major factors contributing to their hindrance.
Individuals, who had the passion for creating a presence in technical writing, trained their sub conscious mind to write right so that they can happily concentrate on the technical aspects of the assigned tasks. Consequently, these pioneers are now the leaders in the field of technical writing.
Working with the subconscious mind power will assist you in using affirmations, visualization, and many other techniques effectively.
Lastly, use your subconscious mind to concentrate on 5 Ws (What, Where, When, Why, Which) and 1 H (How), as a wonderful aid and establish yourselves for a great career in the writing field.

Is sub conscious mind enough for tech. writing?
Hi Srip,
Are you saying that people with active mind are not effective writers?
Whether sub conscious mind alone play a crucial role in the tech.writer's world?
Are you confused between creativity and sub conscious mind?
One thing you should be aware that for tech. writing it is not the sub conscious mind is necessary but a proper orientation towards product, its features, ins and outs.
A fully active and aggressive mind alone can understand technically complex stuff and there is no alternative for that.
Any work flow cannot be generalised and you should remember one thing that work flow is project/product specific and one cannot follow the same intentions everywhere.
Above all try to avoid misinterpreting things and never produce misleading arguments in public portals like TWIN where more newbies are looking for guidance.
Hope you can understand...
Hello Anonymous, You have
Hello Anonymous,
You have commented without mentioning your name.
However, I feel you are confused with the subject which Srip was explaining about.
Your confusion about the subject is very clear in your writing style itself.
It shows that you are not confident about things which you are commenting about and one can notice many errors also in it. ( Both grammatical and non-grammatical!)
So please correct yourself first before commenting and criticizing some one like this.
I hope you will be able to understand what I meant! If not, please read your comment once again and understand the sentence structure.
Cheers!

Think before you reply
Good comment, but I would be glad to know your name before I can reply.
Well, if you have read my entire blog you would not have commented in this manner. In my blog I have clearly written that writing proper English is in your sub conscious mind which is not aligned with the technical aspects. In simple words, writing grammatically proper English is your primary forte before thinking of a career in technical writing. If writing correct English is in your sub conscious mind, then you can go confidently go ahead.
Look at this paragraph from my blog:
"Individuals, who had the passion for creating a presence in technical writing, trained their sub conscious mind to write right so that they can happily concentrate on the technical aspects of the assigned tasks."
If I go by your words, does writing proper English requires creativity? I am sure you could have written hundreds of mails to your friends, managers and others. Are you creative while writing mails? I am not diverting the topic but this is a live example that sub conscious mind improves your confidence, ability and positive thinking while writing any type of documentation, be it technical or non-technical. Remember that I have been the member of this forum for the past three years and at instance I have neither the intention nor the will to mislead readers.
I don't know how do you take this message but going by my experience and knowledge I can definitely say that it is a cent percent fact.
It is up to you to believe this fact and I am sure no newbie would get infected by this message in any sort of manner.

Normally, the conscious mind
Normally, the conscious mind is involved in logic and reasoning. The author can tell us how technical writers can distinguish between the conscious and the subconscious mind when writing a user manual or a help file?
I would also like to know what the author exactly mean by the "technical aspects of the assigned tasks".

Hi, Task refers to approach.
Hi,
Task refers to approach. Normally, when you consider fields such as software development or testing, they work with a fully conscious mind because it involves heavy syntax usage and high level programming usage.
But when you consider Art domain, it involves a combination of conscious and subconscious mind.
Few examples:
Driving is an Art.
While driving, it is your subconscious mind that tells you change the gears automatically. But if you were to travel a particular route or apply brakes, then it is your conscious mind that is going to direct you.
Painting is an Art.
While painting, the artist totally concentrates on the image in his mind. His subconscious mind totally takes care of the usage of different brushes or colors.
Similarly, Technical writing is also a type of art. Through my blog, I tried to convey that
Technical Writing = Technical (Technology) + Writing (English)
The second part, i.e. "Writing" correct/simple language sentences should be part of your subconscious mind.
The first part, i.e. "Technology" should any how involve a bulk of your conscious mind.
Please revert if you have any questions.
