Need more votes for the clear result

Hello All,

Thanks for showing your interest in this poll. I need some more votes(total 20 votes), so that it will provide a good conclusion.

Poll Result

Hello all Tech Writers,

I found there is a slight difference between voting counts for the first and second options. However, the second option is also considered as a best way to start carrier in Technical Writing, I will conclude that one can practice authoring tools and writing styles, and start working as a technocal Writer. This will help you learn a lot than what you get from any Technical Writing course. First, the more you practice through your work, you will get clear idea of technical writing and its ups and downs. You will also start earing as a technical writer that will help you gaining great financial goals in future, secondly. All this will happen easily provided you should keep upgrading your knowledge of technical writing and skills.

Thanks for your encouraging cooperation. I hope that I will soon come back with some new ideas and queries.

With best regards,

Datta Ankushe

My experience

I second Datta Ankushe. Actually I started my career without any knowledge about Technical Writing and what I know now is only through my learning and practice. I am successfully completing 10 years in this industry!!

I have given my vote to the 'Practice some authoring tools and writing styles' option purely based on my experience.

It was an interesting poll and I was interestingly watching out for updates on it every now and then.

Thanks for all.

Regards,
Anie

Option 2 is the impetus for starting Technical Writing career

Since there is no hard and fast rule like a military training as to how one secures a job as a Technical Writer, I would personally prefer choice two - Join as a Fresher in TW. The reason is obvious because in the other three scenarios, any person would go through a stipulated set of material, which sometimes may or may not suit to the changing trends in TW domain. Although I don't degrade the other three choices, the reason for selecting second choice helps a budding writer to come across real-time scenarios, corporate training, management skills and also observe and learn from the peers about different difficult situations that one may face in his/her daily activities. When you attend an interview, only minor emphasis is laid upon clearing the written test(s), wheras the Technical round is the deciding factor. Basically, the interviewer will screw the candidate on various real time scenarios and expects a response that could match or probably solve the real time problems.

Thanks,
Srip
