Need help.. Anybody involved in Test case writing or Test case documentation ?

My current assignment is test case writing or to be precise test case documentation. We get a bunch of test cases to be edited/re-written for the end user. We are neither involved in running the test cases nor do we have direct access to the product/application for which the test cases are written.
I would like to know if anyone is involved in this kind of an assignment or anything similar or even related to what I have described above.
I am collating information on different types (if any) of test case writing (documentation) to come up with a small write-up on it.

Hi Deepti,
To prepare a test case document, you should have Functional Specification as well as Design documents of the software components for which you are writing the test case. So, after reading your post, I don’t think there may be chances for preparing test case documentation. The work may involve reviewing the test case documents for language, formatting, and style.
Who would be the end users? Are they testing team who run the test cases?

Actually the test cases are
Actually the test cases are run by the client and a raw report is generated. We need to edit that report and put it in a user friendly way according to the client requirements. This is what we are working on currently and this we call as "test case writing". We do refer to product guides and related resources, but it is not functional spec or design document in particular. We are working on a whole product but the test cases are for different features of the product, so I cant even say it is a software application only!
Is anyone working on similar lines..?? or is it something totally different??

I had created something similar to that. In fact I had created the test cases for different features, executed them and also generated a user-friendly report for that :)

Thanks for the response. Yes, I am looking for info on test case writing. My work (though cant be termed as exactly test case writing as I am not writing anything from scratch), does involve dealing with test case editing. I have explained my work process in the previous posts. (I have also got a response from Mahendra too on his work flow)So do let me know what kind of work flow you followed. I am basically collating information to come up with a writeup on test case writing.
