Webhelp and Browser based AIR Help
Hi All,
Can anyone please tell me the difference between webhelp and browser based AIR help.
I liked Browser based help skin very much, its very professional and slick. Not sure if the users will be able to view it without Flash?
Please send me your comments on it.
Thanks in advance!!!!!
RoboHelp supports Webhelp output which can be generated for web-based applications. The output files are html files. They can be mapped for context-sensitive help, comes with various skins, etc.
It also supports AIR output which can be deployed easily and not dependent on web browsers. It is freely Downloadable just like Adobe Reader and Flash Player), can be installed as a local Application. Keyfeatures include-user participation i.e.topic star rating, comment moderation, RSS Feed, local comments or sharable thro'send and receive on network, check updates, push updates to users, comments moderation, Multiple tabs to open various topics, bookmark a page, etc. checkout adobe site for more resources.
Hope this helps to get u started.
To clarify..Adobe AIR is freely downloadable to view AIR Help. AIR Help output can be generated using RoboHelp. AIR Help is available as a single-sourcing layout since RH 8.
Hi,
Thanks a lot for your reply. It is really helpful. I just have one more doubt. As I want to integrate the Browser based AIR help with a web application so in this case the user accessing the application needs a Flash or Adobe AIR to view this help??

Garima
Hi,
Anyone has "RoboHelp Packager for AIR" Installer?
Adobe had made this available for RH 7 users as a plug-in to generate Air help output. But they do not supoort it anymore. Most related blogs on AIR help point to Adobe link for downloading which no longer exists.
if anybody had downloaded it earlier, please share it. Feel free to send it through personal message.
Thanks,
Sharvari
