To support this unprecedented growth, the Cisco Technical Documentation group is further expanding its footprint and is seeking technical writers at different experience levels (minimum relevant experience: 3 years). This is an exciting time to be a part of the Cisco Technical Documentation group as it establishes a center of excellence in India and presents a host of exciting opportunities for technical communication professionals.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, plan, develop, and write documentation sets, including complex technical material, under limited supervision.
• Identify, plan for, and revise technical writing project requirements, and research complex source material for these projects.
• Take on special projects outside the scope of regular tasks.
• Work with editors and technical resources to improve document quality and usability.
• Perform simultaneous task and project coordination for multiple projects. (Senior Technical Writer)
• Serve as lead writer for complex projects and ensure that projects are completed on schedule. (Senior Technical Writer)
• Help to identify and implement standards and process improvements.

Required Business/Technical Skills

• Excellent writing skills.
• Ability to identify the significantly complex information needs of target audiences, develop appropriate documentation plans, and manage the execution of those plans concurrently.
• High proficiency in networking technology and a thorough understanding of project management. (Desirable skill for Senior Technical Writer)
• Proven leadership skills in the areas of team building, project management, and the mentoring of junior and mid-level writers. (Senior Technical Writer)
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
