A Book and Pen with You Always
Submitted by Anonymous on Mon, 08/11/2008 - 16:18How many of us out there use notepad to jot down points.
I have rarely seen people now-a-days keeping notebooks at their desks. (Not all but most of them).
Unless if it is a meeting scheduled. I don’t see people keeping a small book at their desk. They just ignore it.

My Experience
Submitted by Anonymous on Thu, 08/07/2008 - 14:28I have completed my course of technical writing, like many others. Two and a half months back and still looking for a break, waiting for a call and started repenting the time I thought of making career in TW. It is during past few years that this career has started gaining visibility, and before the companys start opening its gate for freshers, many institutes have mushroomed and started producing a good amount of technical writers. Many old ones added this course to their curriculum. Nothing wrong but most disheartening fact is that they all claim of 100% placement or job assistance.

Why move???
Submitted by Anonymous on Sun, 06/08/2008 - 12:29Why move???
Loved reading Anandita’s post “Don’t Go”. I am working in a company for a year now (as a technical writer, obviously) and almost every month we get a ‘bye, thanks for everything’ mail announcing an employee’s last day. As I am still in a newcomer to the tech writing community, I am curious to know why people quit an organization:
• Is it because of a low salary?
• Work not interesting enough?

Checklist for Oral presentation
Submitted by Anonymous on Mon, 06/02/2008 - 13:56While hard work and good ideas are essential to success, our ability to express those ideas and get others to join us is just as important. Much of this verbal expression will be one on one or in small groups but periodically (and for some of us often) we will be involved in more formal and public speaking in front of larger numbers.

Miss G IN MY COMPUTER
Submitted by Anonymous on Mon, 05/12/2008 - 16:51Hmm… The whole city seemed to be in under a spell of ghosts – There were the famous dramas Rakta Rakshas and Kadamatathu Kathanaar running house full. My beloved Asianet and Surya took pride in possessing a lady draped in Saree, with hair lose, sporting two V-shaped teeth.
I came to my office as usual, with the G factor in the back of my mind. I really envied the G pals now. No office, no home, no work, just roam around the whole world scaring people off the feet. Try scaring my computer and then I would declare `No Work’. Yippie!!
Wishful thinking, I bogged down again.
